EE Design Forums
Several users have emailed me asking about whether there will be a support forum provided for EE Design. I really wish pmachines would release the upcoming forum module soon, but it sounds like it is still a ways off. Les Jenkins has put out the call to PHP coders, asking if someone would take up the challenge of getting miniBB to integrate with the EE member database. This would be awesome, but it does not look like anyone has taken up the reins. I could set up a phpBB or Invision forum very easily, but the only downside is that folks would have to register separately for that and it would not be integrated (from a look-and-feel perspective) with EE Design.
Based on the number of support-type emails I have received, it seems like there might be somewhat of a demand for a forum. I would be willing to set one up, but I need to get more feedback on whether EE Design users want a forum or would find one helpful.
Please comment.

MT Clean for EE
Movable Style is an excellent repository of Movable Type templates and, with their blessing, here is the first in hopefully a line of templates for EE based on those designs. This first one is called “MT Clean” and it is a port of the “Clean” template found on Movable Style. True to its name, this template offers a very clean and basic design that has proved to be very popular over the years.
You can download the template here. Please post your comments and feedback!

Contact Form
This site’s contact form (link in the footer and in the right sidebar under “Feedback”) is acting wonky right now. Please direct emails to this email for the time being instead. I am going to leave the contact page up so I can continue to bugfix. I’ll post an update when the contact form is working again.
Update: Everything is back to normal. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Setting Template Type
When importing templates into EE, either using the template library or copying and pasting code into blank templates, sometimes folks find that either their CSS stylesheet template or their RSS/Atom templates don’t render or display property. This is usually the result of not selecting the correct type of template in the “Preferences” setting in your Template Group. As this entry and this entry in the EE Knowledge-Blog describe, be sure to select “CSS Stylesheet” or “RSS Page,” as the case may be, for those particular templates. Select “Web Page” for all other templates.

ClassyGreen
Neil Turner has been creating awesome templates for Movable Type, Wordpress, and Blogger for some time and, IMHO, his templates have proved to be immensely popular for their clean design and easy customization. Neil has graciously released his templates to the blogging community at large, and I have now ported one of Neil’s designs, “ClassyGreen,” to EE. The zip file contains all the templates you need to run this design and the README contains full installation instructions. You can check out the screenshot; If you like the template, please drop by Neil’s site and let him know.
Download the zip file here.
